Dear Buck Run Family:

Southern Baptists and Kentucky Baptists especially have reason to be proud and to feel that God is about to do something great among us. This week the Presidential Search Committee of the North American Mission Board (NAMB) announced their selection to serve as president. I am confident that the man they chose is absolutely the very best man for the job, Dr. Kevin Ezell, pastor of Highview Baptist in Louisville.
I am not saying this because Kevin is one of the closest and most intimate friends I have, but because I know him to be a man of integrity, insight, and great gifts. He is the hardest working pastor I have ever seen. He has a heart for God, for family, and for reaching the lost. I predict that Southern Baptists are about to see a church planting movement in the nation like we have not seen since the Second Great Awakening.
NAMB is our strategic organization that helps our churches and our state conventions carry out the work of the Great Commission. Under Kevin’s leadership we will focus our attention on those large population centers where so many people have never heard of Christ and many more have not heard His gospel.
Please join me in praying for Dr. Ezell, for NAMB, and for our church planting and mission efforts around the world. Remember that every time you give your tithe to Buck Run, that a portion of that goes to the Cooperative Program. That is the way that our church and thousands of others work together to carry out the Great Commission.

In Christ,

Bro. Hershael
